Subject: Slow Performance using Preferred Server Option

PROBLEM: A customer had file servers running NetWare 286 and NetWare
386 connected to the same backbone. They were complaining
that if they attached to the 286 file server first and
logged into the 386 file server, the system response time
would slow down when transferring files. They were using
the v3.01 shell.
SOLUTION: This was a problem with the v3.01 shell when using the
preferred server option. All packets were routed through
the preferred file server. The solution is to get revision
E of the v3.01 shell (SH301E.ZIP in NetWire library 16).
